Put In - The boat ramp is located in the Beaverdam access park off of Highway 50 above 98. Nice slightly rocky put in is to the left of the dock/ramp. Some people put in on the sandy beach to the right, but this is usually for swimmers.
Distance/Time - 5.3 miles/2:20 hours/2.3 MPH Avg. Speed
Difficulty - Easy
Trip Directions - From the put in, head left towards the Old Weaver Road bridge. It is about a mile to the bridge. I like to go straight and paddle hard so I can come back at an easy pace. Usually the wind is against you to the bridge anyway.
Scenery - Various birds, beavers, and people because this is a popular swimming area. No power motor boats allowed, just fish trolling motors. Did a waypoint on two fishing attractors done by Bobby a scout in Troop 342 for his Eagle project. Also, found a nice waypoint with the Corps of Engineer marker that is now in the water because of the high water. Finally, the Mangus house is in the small cove north of the put in on the right hand side. You can put in here also. Not sure if the park owns this house or not.
Hazards - None.
