Put In - Located left of the dam spillway, down by the picnic area. A nice trail from the parking area leads down to the water Access is off of Falls of Neuse Road, parking is just before the dam overpass. Gates are only open 8am-5:30pm daily, Monday thru Friday only.
Distance/Time - 13.3 miles/5 1/2 hours
Difficulty - Average
Trip Directions - Took a day off from work as the weather was going to be beautiful and no wind. Put in at the dam and then a pickup at the Highway 50 boat ramp. Next time might do this in the reverse.
Scenery - Another beautiful fall day around 70 degrees and low wind. Just took it easy and paddled enjoying the water and fall colors. Saw many egrets during the trip.
Hazards - None other than fisherman were out in a good number.
