Falls Lake - BDFM(BeaverDam Full Moon) Trip
Put In - Put in at the Mangus house road off of Old Weaver Road at Beaverdam. Arrived around 5pm to beat the early sunset. Two other folks showed up, one a fisherman in a sit-on top with a fish finder and the other a Dad and sons in a small electric powered boat. We crisscrossed each other during the evening.
Distance/Time - 6.3 miles/3 1/2 hours
Difficulty - Difficult because of a night paddle.
Trip Directions - This was a full moon trip with zero wind and nice warm conditions. I decided to head to the west shore and then head north. Discovered the Beaverdam mountain biking trails that exist at this end of the park. Very well maintained and marked. The lake was nice and high because of all the rain.
Scenery - Lots of egrets, a beaver slapping his/her tail, and small birds. It was a very nice paddle with a great sunset.
Hazards - Not much, just be aware it is night time.
