Falls Lake - Full Moon Jere Trip
Put In - Located at the Upper Barton Creek boat ramp on Six Forks Road. Put in on the right side of the boat ramps.
Distance/Time - 6.1 miles/3 hours 30 minutes
Difficulty - Difficult because of a night paddle
Trip Directions - This was a full moon trip so was on the lake about 7PM to wait for moon rise at 9pm. My neighbor Jere and his new boat, second time out with it. Headed left or east towards Blue Jay Point. Fifth time as a night paddle. Paddled to the old Six Forks Road and hiked up to an old cemetery. Then we circled down to the Barton Creek Bridge and then back to Blue Jay Point and had Jiffy Pop. Really cool and low humidity evening. Not a cloud in the sky.
Scenery - Osprey nest near Blue Jay Point was active.
Hazards - Motor boats everywhere, be careful.
