Turn right on SR1794 travel 0.5 miles to stop sign and turn right onto SR1632, follow into area. There is one ramp for motor boats, the best place for put in for kayaks is to the right of the boat ramp.
Distance/Time - 12.8 miles/5 hours
Difficulty - Average
Trip Directions - My wife dropped me off this time at the Eno River boat ramp and I paddle to the HIghway 50 boat ramp, another half marathon. Did the other way in the fall. This trip is in much more open water than from the dam. I enjoy the dam side better.
Scenery - It was a very overcast day which made it very nice for paddling. I knew the wind was going to pick up, but that did not happen until around noon time. I just paddle nice and easy and took breaks at the Hickory Hills boat ramp, Rolling View picnic area, and a few other places just to stretch. The egrets were out in full force and bird wildlife was very high.
Hazards - None really, no wind, hardly a boat around.
