Put In -
From intersection of
I-85, exit 182 (SR1632-Red Mill Rd). Travel Red Mill Rd. west 4.5 miles to
stop sign. Turn right on SR1794 travel 0.5 miles to stop sign and turn right
onto SR1632, follow into area. There is one ramp for motor boats, the
best place for put in for kayaks is to the right of the boat ramp. Very
muddy at high water and various rocks around to scratch your boat. You
can park near the ramp on the right and unload and then park your car back in
the parking lot.

Trip
Directions - From the put in, head left towards Falls Lake. About .8
mile down the Flat River merges into the Eno. This time I did find the
Knap of Reeds Creek and the spelling is corrected also (not Knapp).
The creek access is on the easterly side of the lake and on this trip I came
up the eastern side so ran right into it. I encountered a bird watcher
who was monitoring an eagle nest and two eaglets. They had been born
at the end of March and were about to fledge. Both eagles took off
when I neared the nest and I only got a far picture of one flying away.
The nest is very hard to see and I never saw the eaglets, have to go with
the bird watcher's comments. I actually ate lunch under the nest.
The creek is a very nice paddle and it ended with a downed tree. Could
have gone further if I wanted to but did not want to portage around this.
Google Earth shows that I had a bit more to go, interesting area.

Hazards -
Not much, no motor boats and the water level was decent. Wind was up,
but not to bad.
