Put In - Located at the Ledge Rock boat ramp. The put in is to the right of the boat ramps. Parking is in the area parking lot. Unload to the right of the boat ramps and then park up in the parking lot.
Distance/Time - 7.8 miles/3 1/4 hours
Difficulty - Average
Trip Directions - This was a night time paddle, no moon, the humidity was down. Did the normal route north to the osprey nests, 5 nests now, and then back down on the east shoreline to a shelter right before Sandling beach. The water level was around full pool and this let me paddle under Old Weaver Trail at the north end. I was able to paddle a nice distance. A family was fishing at the road and was amazed I was going to paddle through the opening under the road.
Scenery - Lots of wildlife out and about. The osprey have really take root in this area. To get to the road I have always had to get out and pull the kayak over the beaver dam, but it was destroyed in one section so it was easy to paddle back into the area.
Hazards - Night time paddle with no moon.
