Falls Lake - Lick Creek II Trip
Put In - Located at the Highway 50 Boat Ramp on Creedmoor Road. Put in on the upper right side of the boat ramps. A nice peninsula allows for a nice put in near a lone pine tree. Parking is near this peninsula.
Distance/Time - 12 miles/5 hours
Difficulty - Average, can be windy through this area
Trip Directions - Head straight out from the put in and go under the Highway 50 bridge towards Rolling View marina. Lick Creek starts right after the marina. Also, headed down Laurel Creek which was a real nice creek under a lot of tree cover.
Scenery - Hiked the two access roads and found two cemeteries, the northern one is the Rigsbee family and the southern one is the Pennington family. The osprey nest was active and the fledglings seemed to be learning how to soar. Dad osprey liked to keep tabs on me when I was around the nest.
Hazards - Motor boats everywhere, be careful.
