Put In - Located at the Ledge Rock boat ramp. The put in is to the right of the boat ramps. Parking is in the area parking lot. Unload to the right of the boat ramps and then park up in the parking lot.
Distance/Time - 7.1 miles/3 hours
Difficulty - Average
Trip Directions - This was a night time paddle, on a new moon, the humidity was down. Did the normal route north to the osprey nest and then back down on the east shoreline to Sandling beach.
Scenery - The osprey nests have exploded. The original nest that fell down last year is back in a lower tree. Three other nests now are active. So this area can really support osprey hunting. I found an opening in a beaver dam as was able to get back into the backwaters of the dam. Lots of birds out, the lake was perfectly calm.
Hazards - It was very quiet for motor boats this night as it was a Monday evening. I still was cautious on the way back in.
