Falls Lake - Old Weaver Trail Trip
Put In - Old fishing area on Old Weaver Trail. This area has been closed as the parking lot and old road bed have been blocked with railings, however, a decent parking area is still useable beside the railing in front of the parking lot. The only worry would be someone messing with your vehicle since I was paddling at night. On the way in a car did speed off, but nothing was a miss.
Distance/Time - 7.6 miles/3 hours
Difficulty - Difficult because of a night paddle.
Trip Directions - I decided to head to the Rolling View camping area. The sun is at your back paddling in and then you can following the fading light on the way back, so that worked out well.
Scenery - Various egrets, osprey, and deer. It was a cool evening and a nice paddle. Some homestead on Old Weaver Trail shot off fireworks and it really was a nice show, the booms would echo from a way across the lake.
Hazards - None, no boats at all in this area at night.
