Put In - Located at the Upper Barton Creek boat ramp on Six Forks Road. Put in on the right side of the boat ramps. I called this trip 'The Zoo' because the lake is full and the motor boats coming in and out was unbelievable. The line waiting to take out at the ramps were 5 cars deep at least.
Distance/Time - 4 miles/2 hours
Difficulty - Difficult because of a night paddle.
Trip Directions - This was a sunset/moon trip so was on the lake about 7:00PM. Head right or west towards Upper Barton Creek. Had not been here in a while, the famous zip line was still up. Nice evening paddle with the water level 1 foot above full pool.
Scenery - First time I have ever seen egrets nesting with their young. Two trees had nests with their young. I always thought they nested on the ground.
Hazards - Motor boats everywhere, be careful. This is why I headed away from the main lake.
