Put In - Located at the Upper Barton Creek boat ramp on Six Forks Road. Put in on the right side of the boat ramps. This trip was to just get out and enjoy the fall day and do a longer paddle to Zeagle's Rock on the B.W. Wells site.
Distance/Time - 9.5 miles/4 hours
Difficulty - Average.
Trip Directions - I headed out from the boat ramp east and then headed to the Highway 98 bridge and hung a hard left towards the rock. Water is down some, around 249 feet.
Scenery - Had an Egret on the Osprey nest each time I paddled by. Very nice day and the trees are just a little over peak but still good. I hiked the park as usual and visited all the buildings. Blue Jay Point park was busy based on the number of people along the shoreline. Also, a group of folks looked like they camped at B.W. Wells as they were fishing in the morning.
Hazards - Motor boats showed up in force after lunch.
