Harris Lake - Cass Holt Rd Trip
Put In - On Cass Holt Road right before the bridge that crosses a spur of the lake. This is an old railroad bed down to the water. A cable gate blocks the way for driving down. About 100 yards to the Put In. You could put in at the bridge, but a beaver dam blocks the way down stream.
Distance/Time - 5.2 miles/3 hours/2 MPH Avg
Difficulty - Difficult
Trip Directions - From the put in, head out and to the left to the main section of the lake. I took the long spur till it dead ended and returned in a loop.
Scenery - Very isolated area of Harris Lake, herons, bald eagles, ducks, and turtles. Lots of flowering plants all around the lake blooming.
Hazards - Only boats when you get the main part of the lake.
