Put In - The boat ramp is located in Hyco Park and is located off Hwy. 57 north of Roxboro on Kelly Brewer Road. There is no fee to launch a kayak.
Distance/Time - 9.6 miles/4 hours
Difficulty - Average.
Trip Directions - I headed straight east towards the power plant. You can get quite close to it and it is kinda noisy. After making the power plant I then crossed the lake to the side with homes and just slowly paddled back. Had lunch at the park after arriving back.
Scenery - Little chilly to start, but it warmed up a bit. Never did take off my jacket. The water was warm as usual because of the plant. Two egrets followed or I followed them all day. And various ducks were around. The south side of the lake is undeveloped because of the power plant. I also found an access road that lead to the railroad tracks that are used to bring the coal in. Next trip I will head west.
Hazards - None.
