Jordan Lake - Little Beaver Creek II Trip
Put In - Ebenezer Church boat ramp. Ebenezer Church is accessed from US-64. Take SR-1008 south from Wilsonville (midway between Pittsboro and Apex) and follow the signs. When the main entrance is open a fee is charged, if closed (get there before 8am) then it is free.
Distance/Time - 10.7 miles/5 hours
Difficulty - Average
Trip Directions - I headed southeast towards the SR 1008 bridge, and then bear right to enter Little Beaver Creek. The larger spur to the left is Beaver Creek. Made a complete loop of this spur of the lake, going clockwise. Two access roads are available, so hiked both. Overcast day helped to keep it nice and cool. Lake level is +2 so was able to go further back on the creek. Actually paddled two channels that flow here. The dog got into some poison ivy so I had to use my poison ivy soap to wash her down.
Scenery - Very scenic area for birds. Two osprey nests were active.
Hazards - Boats showed up around noon, it was a zoo at the boat ramp.
