Put In - The Roberson Creek boat launch is just below the last rapids on the Haw River as it flows into Jordan Lake. To get there, drive west across the lake (toward Pittsboro) on Hwy. 64. Six miles west of Wilsonville (64 and 1008 stoplight) you'll cross the Haw River. At 0.9 mile after the Haw, turn left on SR 1944 (Dee Farrell Road). It will shortly dead end into SR 1943; turn left on SR 1943. After 3.0 mile of traveling southeast on SR 1943, look for Roberson Creek boat ramps on SR 1943.
Distance/Time - 6.85 miles/4 hours
Difficulty - Average
Trip Directions - Headed up Robeson Creek first to the end, water level is up from our 5 inches of rain last week, remnants of Hurricane Fay. Then out the main lake and north to the confluence of the Haw River. There are three sections that can be explored. Ate lunch at the canoe launch 50 yards south of the rapids.
Scenery - Very nice day with low humidity, lots of egrets and maybe an eagle. Turtles were out. Ran into quite a few people kayaking and fishing.
Hazards - Motor boats
