Jordan Lake - Vista Point Trip
Put In - The entrance to Vista Point is on North Pea Ridge Road/SR 1700. Traveling west on US 64, pass the lake and take a left at the first traffic light onto North Pea Ridge. This road leads into Vista Point.
Distance/Time - 7.4 miles/4 hours
Difficulty - Average
Trip Directions - I headed north from the boat ramp and explored every cove. Had lunch at a nice stream that was blocked by downed trees. Finally found a really nice access road that I took north to a very old homestead. Found the cemetery for the Carter and Bell families. The oldest cemetery stone had a birth of 1717.
Scenery - Very calm and warm day for December. The lake was like a mirror most of the time. Egrets and ducks around, but not as much as I would have thought.
Hazards - The area where the cemetery is, is out of the state park land, so beware of hunters.
