Neuse River - Buffalo Rd. to Milburnie Dam
Put In - Located near Buffalo road. Turn in on Elizabeth Road right before the bridge. This access is maintained by the City of Raleigh.
Take Out - Located on river left just before Milburnie Dam. An old stone bridge pillar is on river right straight across from the take out. A warning sign on river right gives you 1000 yards to the dam. You must not go over the dam. Requires a portage of about 100 yards to the parking area on the other side of the dam. Access to the take out is from Highway 64, turn into Beach Pointe Ave. after going over the Neuse Bridge on Highway 64. Look for the Raleigh Parks Access sign on the left.

Trip Directions - From the put in head down stream
Scenery - Urban area river scenery. This is the best and scenic part of the urban Neuse river. The back waters of Milburnie Dam makes the water higher and clearer. The Raleigh Greenway can be seen at various places also. Also, some nice back water swamps can be navigated.
Hazards - Moving water, downed trees, rocks, etc.
